50th Anniversaries. We've had a couple of 50+ wedding anniversaries celebrated this month - any other 50+ anniversaries coming up?
Buhl Day. Peggy (Loesel) Hines reports that Buhl Day on Monday, September 6th, was a great day weather-wise and everything else. It started with the parade - her church passed out 6,000 bottles of water and had a float. The newly renovated casino was open for tours and while the outside looks the same, the inside was mostly offices but remodeled very nice. The art show was still upstairs. The entertainment was great and lots of cars came for the car show. She and Bob Gilliland saw Gary Heath who was with us through 7th grade and then attended Farrell schools. Sandy (Stasey) Fields toured the casino, pronounced it beautiful, and sent a photo to prove it, which is attached.

The Class of '58 "girls" meet for breakfast at 9:00 A.M. the second Monday every month at Denny's Restaurant, 2079 East State Street, Hermitage (724-347-3123). This is where most of the planning for our 50th Year Reunion occurred. The next breakfast meeting will be on Monday, October 11th. Congratulations to Bertie (Rogan) Vasconi! She and husband John celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on September 13th. BERTIE retired after 30 years as a public school art teacher and 5 years as Director of Brevard Jewish Community School in Melbourne.  | A lifelong entrepreneur and benefactor of the Shenango Valley, James E. Winner, Jr., of Hollywood Beach, Florida, formerly of Clark, passed away September 14, 2010, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Highland Township, Clarion County. He was 81. His business interests included The Club, a vehicle anti-theft device; The Radisson Hotel, Shenango Township; Tara – A Country Inn, Clark; Tiffany’s Banquet Center, Brookfield; and the former Winner Steel, The Winner, a women’s clothing store, and Buhl Mansion Guesthouse and Spa, all in Sharon. | ||
