Class Update, September 2009

New Address List. We've updated the online class address list at http://www.geocities.com/shs_1958/58a.htm in preparation for mailing a "hard copy" list to our classmates who do not have e-mail. The printed list has been prepared in an older version of Microsoft Word. If you want an electronic or hard copy, please reply by e-mail to Jim Ingram at jagjei@charter.net and tell us which one you want, and we will send it to you. The last one sent by hard copy was in 1998.

Overheard at Deneen's....
The Class of '58 "girls" meet for breakfast at 9:00 A.M. the second Monday every month at Denny's Restaurant, 2079 East State Street, Hermitage (724-347-3123). This is where most of the planning for our 50th Year Reunion occurred. The next breakfast meeting will be on Monday, October 12th. For more information call Peggy (Loesel) Hines at (724) 962-4837 or e-mail her at pahines@verizon.net, and please join them.
Peggy (Loesel) Hines and husband Al were pictured on the front page of the Sharon Herald on Monday, September 14th. They're going to re-trace their honeymoon in a fully restored 1953 Mercury to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Go to Hines Car Story to read the full story.
Trudy (Askerneese) Berryman's son, Eric, writes that Trudy has been diagnosed with colon cancer and is under hospice care and needs our prayers.
Condolences to Chuck Bender on the death of his mother, Lillian Bender, at age 93, in Hermitage, on September 21st.
Condolences to Jim Goggins, whose wife of 45 years, Rita, died July 14, 2009, after a long bout with a relatively rare disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Jim continues to live at 2205 Darlington Drive, The Villages, FL 32162-7725, (352) 205-8748, e-mail: jimgoggins@embarqmail.com .
Skip Smith writes that he and wife Carolyn have a bald eagle that is building a nest in a pine tree behind their house. They can watch it from the library window. He is a terrible civil engineer. He puts three or four sticks in his nest, then jumps up and down on it and about half the sticks fall to the ground. Rather than pick these up he goes and gets new sticks. Skip expects that by the time he is done with the nest he will have built a fairly nice beaver lodge at the base of the tree! He is young, just getting his white head and tail...which happens at about age four.
