William C. "Bill" Struck, 74, of 254 Stambaugh Avenue, Sharon, died unexpectedly at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at his home. He was born March 24, 1940, a son of the late George and Nellie Vernille Struck. He was a 1958 graduate of Sharon High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1960-1964. Bill had worked as a machine operator at Wheatland Tube Co. in Wheatland, for 16 years. He previously worked at National Malleable & Steel Castings Company for 30 years as an inspector. Bill was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan who liked to hunt. He enjoyed the times he spent with his family. He was of the Lutheran faith, and is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathleen Nettinger Struck, whom he married April 29, 1978. Also surviving are his daughter, Jennifer Struck, Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Derek, Justin, and Carley Tarapchak; and his brothers, Robert G. Struck, Middletown, and Donald R. Struck, Sharon. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stefan Tarapchak. A funeral was held at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 28th, with Chaplain Cary Parsons officiating, and burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
