Ruth A. (Schell) Kalata, 71, of 23 Tallman Lane, Somerset, New Jersey, died Sunday, January 22, 2012, at her residence, following a short illness. Ruth was born in Sharon and was a 1958 graduate of Sharon High School. She had been a resident of Somerset for five years after moving from Randolph, New Jersey. Ruth received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Youngstown State University and a Master's degree from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. She worked as a School Teacher at the Fernbrook School in Randolph for the Randolph Board of Education, and retired in 2007 after 32 years of teaching. She was an avid educator. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Richard P. Kalata; son Scott Homer Kalata and wife Linda of Denville, New Jersey; two sisters, Joan Brennan of Youngstown, Ohio, and Dorothy Darlymple of New Hampshire; and several neices and nephews. A memorial service was held Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph, New Jersey.
