Marc E. Muntean, of 61107 Anchorage Road, Lacombe, Louisiana, died at his home on Saturday, April 7, 2001, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 60 years old, and had resided in Lacombe for 30 years. Marc was born September 9, 1940, in Sharon to Andrew and Hana Muntean. He graduated from Sharon High School in 1958 and from Miami University (Ohio) in 1962 with a degree in chemistry. He was an owner of Gulf Coast Marketing, Inc., and a former First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Marc enjoyed world travel and many outdoor sports, including running, competing in triathlons and skiing. He was an avid reader, a gourmet cook and a wine connoisseur/collector. He is survived by his wife, Dianne deLeaumont Muntean, whom he married November 28, 1991; three daughters, Heather Blodwyn Muntean and Brooke Allison Muntean, both of San Francisco, and Dr. Erin Gail Muntean of Delmar, California; and two brothers, Dean "Fritz" Muntean of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Rick Muntean of Meadville, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail H. Muntean, on October 16, 1980, and by his parents. A funeral Mass was said Tuesday, April 10th, at St. John of the Cross Church, 61051 Brier Lake Drive, Lacombe. Memorial and commital services were held Saturday, April 21, at First Presbyterian Church, Sharon. "Inurnment" was in Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
