Leonard F. Grodecki, 77, of 7846 Thompson-Sharpsville Road NE, Burghill, Ohio, passed away Tuesday evening, January 9, 2018, at U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born May 3, 1940, in Sharon, the son of Anthony and Selma Gradkowski Grodecki. He attended Sharon Junior High School and was a graduate of Sharon High School, Class of 1958. He worked for the Wall Street Journal / Sharon Herald in Sharon from 1959 to 2002, retiring as a pressman foreman. He was a member of the Badger High School, Kinsman, Ohio, Sports Hall of Fame, along with his wife. For years, they took pictures of the Badger athletes as they participated in their sport and gave them to the athletes at the end of the season. He enjoyed softball in the area summer leagues. Leonard is survived by his wife, Donna Torma Grodecki, whom he married June 6, 1960; two daughters, Janet (Joe) Sirochman of Brookfield, and Susan Grodecki of California; three grandchildren; and a sister, Theresa Lutz of Sharpsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. At his request, there were no services or viewing. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Hermitage. |
