John Arvid Hendrickson, 56, of 760 Service Ave., Sharon, Pennsylvania, died at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 1997, at Sharon Regional Health System of cancer. John was born January 20, 1941, in Sharon to the late H. Arvid and Vernie Kelley Hendrickson. After graduating in 1958 from Sharon High School, John earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Youngstown State University. He was a structural engineer and vice president for 32 years at HHSDR Architects/Engineers, Sharon. John was a member of the board of directors and treasurer of Shenango Valley Community Library, Sharon. He was a charter member of Columbia Theatre Inc., Sharon, and a longtime member of its building committee. An avid ham radio operator, he belonged to American Amateur Radio League and Mercer County Amateur Radio Club. He enjoyed fishing and horse racing, and ran in many 5k races locally. Surviving are his wife, the former Diane Kocholek, whom he married April 19, 1968; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Denise) Germani, of Pittsburgh, and Jill, at home; two sisters, Mrs. John (Lois) Erb and Mrs. Woodrow (Mary Louise) Cole Jr., both of West Middlesex; and a grandchild. Burial was at Haywood Cemetery in West Middlesex. |
