Edward "Eddie" Steele

Edward "Eddie" Steele, 71, of 114 Columbus Avenue, Campbell, Ohio, died Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Northside Medical Center, Youngstown. He was born July 31, 1940, in Sharon, to Godfrey and Julia Martin Steele, and was a 1958 graduate of Sharon High School. He had proudly served in the United States Army and was formerly employed as a laborer with Sawhill Tubular in Sharon, retiring in 1999, after 34 years of service. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he served with the Young David’s. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time in his garden. His caring spirit and warm personality will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, the former Hazel Grisstt; three daughters, Tiffany J. Steele of Burlington, N.C., Tara L. Steel of Washington, D.C. and Shana A. Steele of Youngstown; three sons, Edward T. and his wife, Natalia Steele of Moreland Hills, Troy J. Steele of Youngstown, and Thomas M. Steele of Campbell; his sister, Julia A. Hart of Pittsburgh; 10 grandchildren; a host of other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter, Tamara L. Steele. A funeral service was held Monday, October 24, 2011, at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Interment was at Tod Homestead Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washington Funeral Home. The family requested that donations be made in honor of Mr. Steele to the Diabetes Partnership, 3601 S. Green Road, Suite 100, Boardman, OH 44412.
