Dallas Lind Shields III, 76, of 728 41st Avenue Drive NE, Hickory, NC 28601, passed away March 28, 2017, at his residence. Born January 18, 1941, in Sharon, PA, he was the son of the late Dallas Lind Shields II and Betty Armstrong Shields. Lind, as we knew him, was our Class Vice President, and was a graduate of Sharon High School, Class of 1958. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, LCMS, and was previously employed in sales with Readers Digest magazine and fundraising. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Maryann Danko, who passed away November 21, 2012. He is survived by his son, Aaron Shields and wife Christine of Hamburg, NY; daughter, Erika Morgante and husband, Dr. Patrick Morgante of Hickory; grandchildren, Madeline Morgante, Lauren Morgante, Alexander Shields and Zachary Shields and brother, William Shields of Oregon. A Memorial Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, LCMS, with Pastor David Guelzow officiating. A private burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory. |  |
