Barbara A. Metz, 68, of 141 Hamburg Road, Greenville, Pennsylvania, died at 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 30, 2009, in White Cliff Nursing Home, Greenville, after an extended illness. Barbara was born February 11, 1940, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Joseph I. and Mary Catherine Wells Metz. She graduated from Sharon High School in 1958 and served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965 during the Vietnam conflict. She retired in 2004 from White Cliff Nursing Home with 10 years of employment in the dietary department. Barbara was of the Catholic faith and was an avid golfer, having belonged to many local leagues. She was also a member of the ladies auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3374, Greenville. She is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Goldsmith, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Doris Walker, of Missoula, Montana. In addition to her parents, Barbara was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Christian.
